I feel like process for me has been a huge part of the journey with my illustration work. The more I spend time thinking about my process and making improvements I move up the ladder in leaps and bounds. I made a Youtube Video about How I take my drawings to final digital file. See the video below, and please like and subscribe for future video content about my process!

I did some work for Apple Sauce Book Publishing recently and the workbook is no available for purchase. I did some spot illustrations in Adobe Illustrator for their numbers workbook for preschool to age 6. Here is a link to their website. https://applesaucebooks.weebly.com/
You can purchase the book on Amazon.com and here is a direct link to the Preschool Numbers Work book. It was a learning experience working with the editorial director, Heather Tietz. She is wonderful to work with and she was willing to allow me a great deal of freedom to work on the illustrations. I did some cute black and white vector illustrations of farm animals, and created the logo design. She is an experienced writer and educator for early education. It's great working with people like that and it makes you feel like you had a hand in creating the final product! I'm looking forward to continue working with Applesauce Books in the future. I made a Youtube Playlist because I noticed that when I was teaching classes my graphic students the image are not the same size. After we got into Adobe Indesign this was a great way to get them to create their own portfolios that they could send JPGs or PDF to a client. Having a website is important, but illustration clients may want JPG or PDF samples for their artist archives.
AirBNB has been using illustration heavily in the ad campaigns. Which is great news for illustrators. They went above that by creating a free online resource for freelance illustrators or it could be used for freelance artist in general to work through the process.
The break down the site into categories: Nailing the Brief, Championing Originality, Outwit Deadlines, Demystify Feedback, and About Tyrus. The site was named after Tyrus Wong, a former creative for Disney. He was the uncredited for creating the look and visual development for Bambi. If you don't know much about Tyrus watching the PBS special called Tyrus. Here is a link for the episode. I ended up buying it on DVD to show my animation students. Back to the website Tyrus. I think its a great idea especially coming from a client that works heavily with illustration. It's a two way street of communication. I think this would be great for me to provide a client that might be new to working with freelance illustrators. Check it out! Tyrus AirBNB. I can’t believe I am on Season 5 of My Creative Life.
